Marianna Abrahamyan will have a bright future

In July, among numerous cultural events dedicated to the 1700th Anniversary of Christian Armenia, I paid my attention to a modest organ recital in the big Philharmonic Hall of Armenia.  The concert was performed by a reasonably well-known name in musical world Marianna Abrahamyan, and was a graduate recital of her post-graduate studies at Yerevan State Conservatory. It was excellently accepted by listeners.  Based on this performance, the organ teacher of Marianna Abrahamyan, talented organist, professor  Vahagn Stamboltsyan, promises a bright future for his student. The program of the concert included the complete set of organ toccatas by Johann Sebastian Bach, which was performed for the first time in Armenia within one concert. This demanding performance required power, force, and a huge concentration. "She is very talented and a person of a strong will," adds V. Stamboltsyan without concealing his pride. Following the traditions of her teacher, Marianna also performed an encore of Armenian sacred music excerpts. She was just a fourth-year student at Yerevan State Conservatory when she participated in the international organ competition in Russia being awarded with honorable diploma for "Artistic Individualism."  As a matter of fact, along with celebrating the 1700th Anniversary of Christian Armenia, Marianna also dedicated her recital to the 70th birthday Anniversary of her beloved teacher - Vahagn Stamboltsyan.  This young organist's performance attests once again that we are a  cultural nation and have bright performers among our new generation. We also are glad to mention that Marianna will leave for North Carolina School of the Arts to continue her studies, definitely in organ performance. Have a good trip and welcome back, Marianna!

Student's Solo Concert

The Organ was swimming in the ocean of the musical sounds like a ship, and the captain was a fourth-year student of Yerevan State Conservatory Marianna Abrahamyan.  This student's premiere of a solo organ concert was held in the Chamber Music Hall of Armenia, and the program consisted of organ works  by J. S. Bach.
Marianna is a student  of the piano and organ departments.  Her organ teacher is professor Vahagn Stamboltsyan.  Marianna plays harpsichord as well.  She appeared as a harpsichord player with the Armenian Conservatory's chamber orchestra performing J.S. Bach's Fifth Brandenburg Concerto, and in the concert of ancient French Music with famous Armenian cellist Felix Simonyan.
The concert shows that in Marianna Abrahamyan the Armenian organ school has a talented and original performer.
